Bonjour and welcome to the MLM Trigger, I am your host Corine Arnaud and this PODCAST is to help you LEVERAGE Your Network Marketing Skills using the internet to grow your MLM downline.

We are going to dive into [Three Mindsets To Raise Above Hard Time] and we'll go into exploring the mindset shift you need to have when it comes to competition and criticism and getting things done.

All of us are building a business because we want to feel a certain way, more freedom, more time and we get excited about what we’re doing. But then it gets more intense when you have a lot of competition and you want to go into a hole and hide because you have more things to LOSE.

How to turn completion into your best ally. This is one tool that took me a long time to figure out, how to use it. And once somebody taught it to me, it changed the way I look at competition forever. The first mindset shift is how to deal with COMPETITION. In fact, competition is an amazing thing. It actually can fuel you and drive you to push you even more. I think you will create a lot of value, no matter where you are in your MLM journey if you push through that resistance.

It is intimidating because, you feel a little bit discouraged when you start looking at someone else’s success. You watch their videos. You look at the blogs they got. You’re on their FB page and you look at all their posts and you’re like, “I’ll never get there.” And you feel emotionally like you are taken out of the game.

But that is not COMPETITION, what you are doing is you are comparing with somebody else. When you don’t really use the knowledge of the competitive field to inspire you to move forward, you take yourself out of the game and just feel defeated because you compare yourself with somebody else.

You see there is a fine line and all of us know it because most of us have experienced both sides of that coin. Where we get fired up to do our best work and the other side is where we just get sucked out and we feel like we need to sleep for three days. I am someone who is just like that, when I get stress I need to sleep and it does not matter what time of the day it is.

It’s up to us to pay attention to the inner signals and to know what is happening and to really look through that lens and ask yourself: HOW can I allow this to fire me up and drive me to produce my best work. You cannot compare yourself when you are just beginning your journey as an entrepreneur to someone who has been in the game for many years. So competition can be really healthy. Learn to make it actually work in your favor instead of against you as you are moving up in your business.

The second mindset shift is how to deal with CRITICISM, I read it somewhere and it really helps me because it is actually an incredible useful tool. If criticism shows up on your doorstep like on your blog or your FB page or at an event. Deal with it head-on. Because people who critics just want to be heard. If you acknowledge them and their point of view, you tell them that you respect where they are coming from. Find any point in their criticism that you agree with and voice that, it’s amazing. You completely disarm them. You open up a dialogue.

The less you resist and the more you say: “You know what? I can really see where you’re coming from”. Then, what feels like criticism from our point of view and acknowledging someone else’s point of view can really help. Both of you can actually learn something from each other. And the second part is when you realize that constructive criticism can make you better. If you don’t shy away from it, if you don’t just delete it, you can actually use it.  Just like competition to raise your game to the next level. I think all great growth comes out of feedback and yes, sometimes that feedback is painful but as an entrepreneur, you have got to learn how to manage it.

The third mindset shift is how do you deal with the lack of follow-through. When you’re thinking about follow-through, you’re thinking about the fact that you got a million things on your list. All these ambitious projects that you want to push through, all these things that you want to do every day. Like reaching out, writing blogs, doing a podcast, videos and all these tasks on your list and it never seems to happen. You have got to ask yourself this simple question: Are you running your business like an amateur or like a professional?

The answer is PROFOUND think honestly about it and it will change everything. Amateurs are people who basically show up every once in a while. They flake on their commitments and they say they are going to do something. They don’t usually take their work seriously. They are more likely to get lost in things like getting caught up with tasks that don't have anything to do with their business and they got tons of excuses for why it never gets done. A professional shows up no matter what, gets results no matter what and never has a reason for why it doesn’t work because they always figure it out and make it happen. A professional is a person that you can depend on and takes themselves seriously.

Question: If you were the best in the world at what you do, HOW would you behave? And if you don’t consider yourself the best in the world, WHY? You have to get things done and get it out into the world even if you are not ready yet and you have to have a vision that’s beyond our current capabilities right now. Meaning, we have this idea of who we want to become. How we want our message to be received, when we are first starting. We don’t have the experience, we don’t have the capital, we don’t have the resources, we don’t have the team members to make that vision fully come to life. Does that mean you shouldn’t do anything? No, because the only way to get to that place is just to start producing work right now.

I would encourage anyone who struggles with resistance to take whatever that piece of work and get the thing out and actually, get people engaged with it and get the feedback and tweak it as you go. Don’t let the competition hold you back, the fears, the criticisms because that quite frankly keeps us backward.
