We are going to dive into [How Will YOU Transform Yourself For People To Tune In YOUR TV Show] and we'll talk about that you don’t have to be the most knowledgeable person in the world on your topic, you just have to be one chapter ahead of the people you’re helping.
In 2002 I worked in the costume department for the motion picture industry and the movie directed by Steven Spielberg. "Catch Me If You Can" And it will illustrate the topic of our talk today.
Catch Me If You Can — It’s the story of a famous con artist. When FBI agent Tom Hanks pursues Frank Abagnale Leonardo DiCaprio, a brilliant 18 years old high school dropout who masqueraded as an airline pilot, a doctor, a district attorney and more.
There is a point where he taught for a whole semester, an advanced sociology class in the University, and no one ever figures out THAT he was not a real teacher. Later on when they finally caught him, the authorities ask, “How in the world did you teach that class? You don’t know anything about advanced sociology.” He replied, “All I had to do was read one chapter ahead of the students.”
That’s the key. You don’t have to be the most knowledgeable person in the world on your topic, you just have to be one chapter ahead of the people you’re helping. There will always be people in the world who are more advanced than you. That’s fine. You can learn from them, but don’t LET IT STOP YOU from helping the ones who need your expertise.
If you’re going to start a mass movement and create a vehicle for change, the first question you have to ask yourself is WHO DO I WANT TO SERVE? The answer to that question is typically people who were just like you before you became an expert, right? As a CHARISMATIC leader, you’re going to lead people on a path you have walked before.
You’ve been blessed with talents, ideas, and unique abilities that have gotten you to where you are in life, and those gifts were given to you so you could share them with others. There are people today who need what you have. And they are just waiting for you to find your voice, so you can help them change their lives.
What a tragedy for them if you don’t develop your voice now. Because it deprives them of the experience and the opportunities they should have and those people YOU COULD SERVE by sharing your talents and abilities, THEY might never be reached otherwise.
The problem for most of us is that our unique abilities are things that come second nature to us. So they don’t seem that amazing, and we dismiss them. Our unique abilities that comes second nature to us, something so simple that it couldn’t possibly be that IMPORTANT. Kind of like… If you’re an amazing cook, it’s not that big of a deal for you. But to someone who can’t cook, it’s a HUGE deal. To you, it seems like common sense.
How can people NOT see what I see? I might dismiss THAT SKILL because it comes so easily to me. But to other people, what I have is a superpower. It’s a gift. And it’s a skill that people will pay hundreds of dollars to learn from me or you. You might say: I’m not certified. I can’t help people yet. I don’t have a degree. I haven’t been to school for this. How can I possibly claim to be an expert. Can you relate to that at all? Your RESULTS are your CERTIFICATION.
Then you might say: I’m building a list, but nobody’s opening my emails. Nobody’s clicking on my links. Nobody’s buying what I’m trying to sell. What am I doing wrong? All my mentors are saying the same things, the missing link is this concept of the Attractive Character. It’s about the persona you’re sharing with your audience and how you communicate with your list.
Most people don’t bother to create this character. My mentors explained the process. It’s one of the most important STEP you can take when it comes to making sales. Once you intentionally create your Attractive Character, YOUR BUSINESS WILL CHANGE FOREVER.
Your Attractive Character is a persona YOU REPRESENT that attracts clients or customers and helps you build your following to eventually make sales. Your Attractive Character allows you to build a platform anywhere you want, whether on email, Facebook, or YouTube. It doesn’t matter where you show up, your Attractive Character WILL draw people to you.
Now think about your favorite movies. Did you go to see it because you thought the storyline was intriguing OR did you go because one of your favorite actors or actresses was in it? Movies use Attractive Characters because those bring in the customers. THIS IS ONE of the biggest secrets behind the most successful online businesses in the most competitive markets, like weight-loss, dating, financial investing, supplements. All got results by building huge brands and platforms around an Attractive Character.
I kept seeing examples of this trend when I was studying the people who related to your stories were the ones who buy your products. I learned this concept of the Attractive Character from my mentors.
The MLMer’s who implemented that concept totally transformed their businesses. This concept can mean the difference between making one thousand dollars a month and making one hundred thousand a month. How attractive are you? How interesting are you? Why would someone tune in to watch a TV special about your story? You might be thinking but I’m not that interesting. I promise that everyone didn’t feel very interesting when they first started out either. But if you find ways to share your backstory and make it compelling people will follow you because of a personal connection - your Attractive Character.
There are three parts to creating an Attractive Character. You need each of these components to create your character that people will like and follow.
