Bonjour and welcome to the MLM Trigger, I am your host Corine Arnaud and this PODCAST is to help you LEVERAGE Your Network Marketing Skills using the internet to grow your MLM downline.
We are going to dive into [The Proven Secret To Become A Master Storyteller] and we'll talk about the basic of the story structure [Part-1]
When you learn the right structure for telling your stories and you apply the concepts you learned so far, you will become a master at storytelling and story selling. It’s great to focus on “story selling” to get people excited about the new opportunities you offer them but you need to have a structure in order to impact your audience. Once you understand how to structure your story, you will be able to craft stories in the right environment for people to have the necessary epiphanies.
So in order to understand story structure we are going to follow a master expert Michael HAUGE who has been one of Hollywood’s top SCRIT consultants and stories experts for more than 30 years. He’s the man that top screenwriters and directors call to make sure that their movies are following correct story structure for maximum emotional impact.
You can listen to Michael HAUGE The Hero’s 2 Journeys— The link will be the attached below.
Michael is going to share with you how to use stories to create belief in the minds of your customers. What he is teaching is fascinating, and will help you become a better storyteller. He walked you through The Hero’s 2 Journeys that will give you the context for what a good story needs to be, and will help you craft your Epiphany Bridge story.
Good stories are really simple. There can be layers of complexities, but at the core they are all very simple. Depending on the complexities you can share the same story in 1 minute or in 1 hour—all with the same desired effect.
Every good story is built on three elements (Character, Desire and Conflict or Plot)
Here is an example: Once upon a time, there was a girl named Red Riding Hood. She wanted to take a basket of cookies to her grandma, who lived in the woods. What she didn’t know was that the big, bad wolf was waiting to eat her up.
So here we have: The 3 elements that are the basic of every movie, book, play, TV show, opera—any type of story.
Character: Red Riding Hood
Desire: Take a basket of cookies to her grandma
Conflict/Plot: big, bad wolf
Michael explained, “Every good story is about— a captivating character who is pursuing some— compelling desire and who faces with— insurmountable obstacles to achieving it. That’s it. If you’ve got those three things, then you’ve got a good story.”
So—The first Epiphany Bridge story you will tell— is the one that got you excited about your new opportunity in the first place… Right?
Take a few minutes to think about your story. You are the character, so that step is easy.
What desire started you on your journey? What did you want to achieve?—Think about it and write it down.
Next, what was the conflict/plot you experienced along the way? —Think about it and write it down.…
Now write out your basic story in one sentence like for "Little Red Riding Hood" story.
Here is an example: Once upon a time, there was a woman named Corine, who wanted to figure out a way to support herself for her later years, without having to depend on on a job for a paycheck or Social Security from the government. So she started selling MLM products and opportunities— But when she contacted everyone she knew— her MLM business dried up overnight.
Character: Corine
Desire: Supporting my later years
Conflict: My MLM business dried up overnight after I had contacted everyone I knew.
Now write out your basic story in one sentence.
