Our story of the week is about "The Power Of A Rubber Band" Liz ironic STORY because recently she literally lost more than seven years of business documents in a freaky Apple encryption situation when she changed her computer password. she tried everything to get the information back. 

After a 47-minute conversation with Mr. Apple Support, the following happened: “The next step, Elizabeth, is to wipe your hard drive,” he said. “Okay, I’ll just restore it from the backup,” Then Mr. Apple Support said something that created an ever-expanding empty pit in her stomach.

“No, Elizabeth. The backup didn’t work. It’s encrypted, too. You have lost it all…You have lost it all.”

She mentally scrambled for another solution in her foggy brain. Her mind was blank, and the harder she thought, the foggier things became. She sat there, silently moving her lips, HOPING maybe THAT would be the remedy of her situation. 

She sat there silently with Mr. Apple Support on the other end of the line for 15 minutes and yet, all she could say in reply was... “I don’t want to have this conversation anymore. Thank you. Goodbye.” She was still unsure why she thanked him. Probably because she was in shock. 

It didn’t really matter anymore , she felt guilty for having lost her children’s photos and memories. They were gone. POOF! Just like that. 

But at the same time, she realized that although she had lost all original files of everything she had built her business for the last 7 years. Tons of documents, photoshop files, logos, templates, checklists, webinars. While she didn’t have a detailed plan yet, she knew she WOULD need to rebuild and she knew enough to rebuild. She had the knowledge, resources, confidence and tenacity to create it again FROM SCRATCH. She had not choice.

She was ready to go, and NOW it was time to get clear on HOW she was going to rebuild and pull herself out of this hole. Blocking out all distractions was important more than ever before she mapped out exactly what she needed to do during 30 days. Also, as she had no name, no guru status, she had only her strengths, knowledge and belief.

She will gather up her INTERNAL resources and then map out a plan. There were people she owed money. So as a first priority, she needed to call them quickly to let them know she intended to pay them, that she was in a squeeze financially, and needed a little grace period so she could pay them. She stepped into the EXTERNAL phase of the process. Then she was ready to shift to the specific steps of what she was going to do to dig myself out of this.

She needed to understand her WHY she want to build a business. She wanted to be strategic and ensure that the business she was creating was right for her customers and serve everyone better in the long run. The first strategy she needed to focus on was how to create an income stream in the short term that she will want to build for the long term. She didn’t want to build a business for the sake of making money.

She wanted to start coaching entrepreneurs who have a message they want to get out into the world. The plan was to get them results quickly and then sell a SCALABLE ONLINE PROGRAM including recordings from the consulting she did with her initial clients. She needed to ensure that the market she was entering was a HOT market, that there are BUYERS, and that the people who are doing what she wanted to do, were SUCCESSFUL. 

She searched online to find at least 3 people who were doing what she was looking to do. One important step she did before moving forward was to figure out where she was going to attract her target market. What traffic source she was going to use to get them to look at her offer? She decided that the best thing to do was to use Facebook Ads, Facebook Lives, organic posts, and email series to attract applicants to her consulting offer. 

She asked herself : What Movement Can I Take A Stand For - WHY she was doing this and WHAT makes her want to help her prospective clients/customers.  She got specific about what the VISION was for the movement she was about to START. What happened in her life that led her to believe she MUST help her specific customers? 

She created an Ask Campaign to share on social media to get direct feedback from the market about what their pain points are and what it would feel like if these pain points were alleviated. She posted this in FB Groups, on her personal page and send messages on FB to people who were in her target market, respectfully asking them to assist her in better understanding what she could do to help them. She wanted to research and understand, to a VERY DEEP degree, what their pains are, what they desire, and what her target AUDIENCE would look like to work on her first OFFER.

The first OFFER was going be “one-on-one OR group coaching” — Course with Bonuses. She wanted to do everything to ensure they got results, the success they desired, had an amazing experience, and became her TRUE fans. CREATING Stories To Sell her Offer.  She used VOXER to send herself voice messages of 10 stories that will help her target market TO believe in her and to believe that she was authentic, that she had what it takes to get them success, that she understood their pain, and that could get them WHERE they wanted to go.

She asked: Why Me? it’s time to consider how unique you can be in the marketplace. There are 1000’s of people who was offering the same service to her target audience, but she must work out WHAT made her different. If she was like everyone else, she would fail. Finally, the Social Proof/Testimonials.  She wanted to make sure that she had evidence that she could assist her target AUDIENCE in getting results and find the success stories that she had helped create for others. She focused on finishing and launching her webinar but it didn’t have to be perfect in fact, imperfect action always beats perfect inaction (and overthinking), so went for it!

Liz knows how to make a ton of money in business, but she also knows that if you’re not grounded in what makes you truly happy... then all the money in the world will never be enough! Ever! Liz’s main focuses at the moment is sharing her message of how to be authentic; and she does this through her work as a keynote speaker, assisting others with various training programs, and one-on-one business mentoring. People say that she has a magnetic and engaging personality that you literally get swept along with. But deeper than that, Liz has a raw passion to impact the world positively before she dies, and has a goal of helping 1 Billion People live true, real and authentic lives. Crazy goal - Yes... Impossible - No!
