Our story of the week is about "How To Control Your Attention & Transform Your Life." Garrett story started as a desire to set himself free from the bondage of his own failing life after the banking crisis of 2008.
He had to know where he was before he could determine where he wanted to go. He investigated all of the chaos in his finances and create a simple money checklist. He Informed everyone he owed money to, that he will need 90 days to catch up. Created DOLLAR FIGURE the amount of money he was in the hole. Created a PEAK MONEY target. This was the amount of money he was committed to produce to dig himself out and put himself back on top of the game in less than 90 days.
He also established and created his DAILY CORE Actions (body, being, balance, business) These are the things he will be doing every single day to keep the game moving forward. On a Daily basis - workout - healthy food - connected with his wife and children and will still drive his children to school every day.
He made a list to set himself FREE of his financial burden. He committed to do: Daily Live Stream, Daily Podcast and Daily FB blog. Join 10 FB groups and spend 1 hour per day per group adding value. Daily building his prospect list and engaging with them.
WHAT Did he Truly Wanted it? TO Establish the reality of where he was committed to go. He must learn from the mistakes that had gotten himself into this situation and make sure that he will never go back to this place again.
The first target was to set up the systems to set him free again and to make money. This was a MUST, not negotiable. His target was $100K a month with the systems that he will build.
WHY Did he Wanted it? TO Establish the reality of his WHY and what is driving him to create. The why? This was crucial and he wrote out the WHY on his board. He HANG a photo of his family and his financial target in his home office with his WHY statements. He will work 14–16 hours a day. He will have a conversation with his wife about the financial PIT he had put his family in and will paint the vision for where he wanted to go in the next 90 days.
What Happens if he didn’t Get What he Wanted? TO be clear on the consequences for failure. What could he have done in the past to mess up the game for himself? Understanding his weakness and the reality of failure allows him to build the paths necessary for the success he wanted to create. He made a note of the challenges and the solutions and how to handle them. He wrote the top 10 obstacles and write them on the whiteboard. He wrote down the strategies he was going to leverage to overcome these obstacles.
What would happens if he got what he Wanted? To be clear on the consequences for success. First, I will look at the painful consequence of his failing on his mission. Yes, his failing because he needed to get some leverage for himself which meant that he needed to see the clear reality in himself, his family, and his future if he didn’t succeed. He will write out the impact on himself - his marriage - his children - his life
What Problem will he Solve? He is very clear that his path is in consulting. The domain will be BUSINESS. He will brainstorm the problems that he knew with 100% certainty he could solve this problem for businesses. Specifically in Advertising - High-Level Fulfillment - Teams Leadership - Marketing Strategy - Sales Systems
What Pain Will he Resolve? To Clarify the painful consequence of the problem in his prospects’ lives. He will outlined the painful consequences that a prospect would be facing because of failure and offer a solution to solve the problems. This is the magic sauce that he will set up for his marketing efforts. He will walkthrough each of the problem and link the painful consequences of each domain BODY - BEING - BALANCE - BUSINESS. He will have the PAIN WEB built, and he will be starting to express it inside the FB groups.
WHO Are The People he will Serve? He will narrow to his specific Ideal Customers and target his NICHE on how the painful consequences will impact them individually. He will print a picture of the MAN and WOMAN who are his avatars to write copy, create videos, and produce other marketing assets.
What Product Will he Provide? He will do a market research online of the top 10 offers of coaches, consultant programs and study their marketing copy, sales systems, and FRAMEWORK they are selling. He will identify where they are weak and determine where he can dominate inside their weaknesses and position himself against the competition. He will be researching what they are selling and why and differentiate himself to lead the field in his niche
Think about it starting from zero with a family and creating a successful business in a short period. It’s possible, he did it and in the process became a successful 7 figures entrepreneur... Let’s do it!
