Our story of the week is about "His Secret Engagement to Becoming a Successful Entrepreneur." Since Dan had to start over after losing everything and had no money, he won’t be wasting time meditating and he will get right to work immediately by making decisions.
He started by identifying the skills he had that other people would love to learn. He then created a FB Group mentioning his skills and a call to action (CTA) for his niche to join his group. Next, he joined several niche groups containing people who are his target audience. He recorded a quick video with his cell phone and post in the group welcoming everyone and providing an up-front tip right away.
Then he gave 100% value in the groups and helped people who asked questions, and kept his comment threads going. People could see the value he put out, click his profile and join his group. He continued giving value in groups and did this until he had 200 members.
He created a Free Webinar Survey and asked several strategic questions based around what they wanted to learn. He asked them what was holding them back, what obstacles were in their way. He told everyone he was doing a free e-book and a training on skills set. He said, “To make sure the training is awesome, please fill out this survey! I want to cover all your questions on the webinar!”
That was his secret to engagement because this will literally give him everything he needed to create all his sales copy, webinars, and even his offer. He continued to promote this survey while writing bullet points for what he was going to share on this free training. He identified the end result everyone wanted to achieve. Then found out what obstacles were in their way and what they needed to overcome to get that result.
Then, he announced that the webinar was coming. The three basic things he would teach. The first one will be the alternative path.
To give an example: 1. How to easily land digital marketing to clients who pay for even if you have no results to show them. Obstacle = not having existing client results
2. The second one will be— why this will work for them— even if they have no control over what is stopping them. Example: How to bring in more customers for your clients even if you have never run an ad. Obstacle = not having enough experiences
3. Finally, he created a secret that covers— why they can still do this even if they feel they can’t. Example: How to scale to multiple clients even if you have no marketing budget. Obstacle = not having money for marketing
He continued promoting the webinar registration and would teach for about 45 minutes, and then make an offer. He announced the launch of an online course covering in detail what he shared on the webinar.
On the first day his live video will be about teaching a preview of Secret #1.
Second day will be about teaching a preview of Secret #2.
The third day will be about teaching a preview of Secret #3.
The offer will be simple. However, he made a special one-time offer… Because people did not know or trust him yet, he was going to offer something better than a refund. He charged them $1 that day but they won’t get charged the full price until 48 hours after the live coaching session. That way, they can try it before they buy. If they don’t like it, they can simply request to cancel and they’ll never even have to pay for it.
Then he made a second offer. If they are 100% in and don’t care about the refund guarantee, they can pay in full right then for an extra huge discount. YES — This is exactly how he did $50,000 for his very first webinar. I created a mob mentality and he barely had an email list. He scheduled an encore webinar and promote the heck out of it. He kept repeated the process over and over.
Since creating a multi-million $$$ online education business, he began coaching other entrepreneurs to achieve similar goals.
The #1 thing Dan tells everyone is this... “If there is an audience willing to learn something for free, there will always be someone willing to pay for more. You only need 1% to become a millionaire and change the world at the same time.”
