Our story of the week is about "How In the World He Became The Best Podcaster?  John had to start over from zero and it was time to get down to business. He studied The One Thing by Gary Keller in preparation for creating his business. He had a BIG IDEA, he would spend time having conversations with people he knew, liked, and trusted to get their thoughts on his Big Idea. He would use all the feedback and work on improving his idea.

He created a mindset of gratitude, abundance, and focus on following one course until success. What UNIQUE things he was grateful for that he didn’t think about often? 

He studied his competition and listed out the things they are doing that he liked as well as all the things he didn’t like. He read all the reviews from their customers and comments left by potential customers. Now that he knew the strengths and weaknesses of his competition, it’s time to NICHE down. He identified the area of the market they were serving poorly, and he crafted his Big Idea to FILL THAT VOID. He made sure that he served that niche better than anyone else out there. 

In order to DOMINATE that niche. He had to start with a small niche to get momentum and traction. Once he knew his PERFECT avatar, everything became easier. He simply turned to his avatar and allow them to guide him in the right direction. This is a CRITICAL step that he didn't overlook. He went on Facebook and LinkedIn to study them online and see how they interact, where they interact, what they complain about, and what they talk highly of. He reached out to his avatars and asked if they would jump on quick 5 minute calls. On these calls, he asked, “What is your biggest struggle around ?” 

He took notes of their pain points, obstacles, challenges, and struggles, and wrote all the details. Now that he had a solution for his avatar’s biggest struggle, he created a masterclass. This masterclass walked his avatar through the struggle they faced, why they faced it, and how his solution could solve it. He invited all of the individuals who he had a chat with, as well as anyone else form his FB group who wanted to attend and could benefit from what he had to share. 

Then, he mapped out a framework once someone joins his FB group. He created a funnel for one-on-one coaching, then one in-person workshops and another one for virtual summits. He focused on growing his audience by observing the main social media channels and identify where his avatar was most engaged. And because he studied what they were talking about, asking about, and complaining about. That gave him everything he needed about his avatar’s biggest struggles and pain points and taking into consideration what content he had created and answered for all his future materials. They gave him everything he needed to serve them on a higher level.

He did a sales funnel that leads to a valuable offer and established a plan to be consistent with creating and nurturing the relationships on an ongoing basis for his Dream 100 list. This included people in his niche who became his partners. He had the groundwork in place, he was able to scale and leveraged his business to a 7-figure income. He is an entrepreneur BROADCASTING… his message by impacting his audience with tons of values around the globe.

John was considered a “first mover” in this industry because he did something NO ONE else was doing at the time, and something both of his mentors advised AGAINST doing, which is starting a DAILY podcast. Today, he’s largely credited as one of the major names in podcasting, hosting what is probably the most successful daily podcast in business. Entrepreneur On Fire is an award-winning podcast where he interviews inspiring Entrepreneurs who are truly ON FIRE. His podcast has over 2,400 episodes, 1.3 million listeners a month, and he is a multiple 7-figures per year from his podcast alone.
